  • Obtain a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. A DBS disclosure provides reassurance for potential students and their parents.
    More info

RGT@LCM has made a special arrangement with a DBS umbrella body called 'Osborne Cawkwell Limited'. All applications are completed online after you have paid the fee (£65) to Osborne Cawkwell. Please contact to apply and they will talk you through it

Here is how the process works:

    • On receipt of an email from an RGT tutor, someone at Osborne Cawkwell will email back with some further information about the e-DBS process and ask you for payment in advance
    • Once the payment is received, they will create your application and you will be sent a link from GBG Online Disclosures where you can start your application (be aware that it may go to your junkbox)
    • You will then be walked through a step-by-step guide of how to fill out the application and which documents to supply
    • Once completed, you will be given a verifying sheet to print off and take to the Post Office for ID checking (this service costs £5 (+VAT) and is payable on site
    • The Post Office will verify the documents the applicant has selected, sign off the form on their system and the form then gets submitted to the DBS
    • The certificate will take up to 10 days to be processed and sent directly to your home address
    • Upon receiving your disclosure, it is good to know and remember that you have 30 days from the certificate's issued date to apply to the DBS Update Service. This is useful to avoid applying for another check if you were to work for someone else for example in the near future. Your status will get updated automatically and new employers can check this online instead of making you apply for a new one. This can be done for a small annual fee through the DBS website directly:
